We strive to be intentional about bringing Jesus into our everyday lives, seeking to penetrate the depths of Christian discipleship, enabling us to grow mature in our understanding of and faith in God.

We serve because Jesus first served us. Our service is an opportunity to worship God, love one another and participate in the transformation of Santa Barbara. If you call Montecito Covenant Church home, we encourage you to consider how you can glorify God by serving others.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

Children Ministries

Our children’s ministry program exists to introduce young people to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to help them to live their whole lives following Him. We do this by walking them through their spiritual development, teaching a Bible-centered curriculum, and participating in missional activities.

The goal of 56 Club is to establish and prepare students to know God personally, to plant a desire to spend personal time with God daily, worship God through music, and to provide thought-provoking interaction with others around scripture, prayer, friendship, yummy snacks and games.

Parents: Kids MUST be signed in and out by a parent to be dropped off and picked up.

Want to help?: We would welcome your store-bought or homemade treats to serve the kids. Need ideas? Cookies, brownies, and ice-cream sandwiches are always welcomed!

Youth Ministries

Our youth ministry programs serves 7th – 12th grade students, and it is our prayer and passion that the ministry provides opportunities for students to be introduced to Jesus, grow in their walk with God, deepen their relationships with one another and serve those in need. We provide a dynamic environment, combining worship, creativity, games and relevant teaching.

Confirmation

Sunday Mornings, 8:45-9:50 am
Leader: Diana Trautwein, Anna Beebe, and Ian Noyes
A 2-year program led by the pastoral staff for young people entering the 7th and 8th grade. The focus of Confirmation is to provide a comprehensive overview of the Old and New Testament and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:50 am in the Fireside Room. This year we will be studying the New Testament.

Sunday Morning Participation

Leader: Trey Lindsley
We consider youth to be full participants in the life of Montecito Covenant Church. Often times Jr High and High School students read Scripture and play in the worship band. The pastors at Montecito Covenant Church are firm believers that when youth ministries segregate young people on Sunday mornings, we run the risk of losing them after high school graduation. We have seen that young people who are connected to a Sunday morning intergenerational worship service are far more likely to remain connected to their Christian faith and become active church participants as adults.

Jr. High Youth Group

Tuesday Evenings, 6:30-8:15 pm
Leader: Anna Beebe
In Jr. High, everyone has something to say about you. We want to spend this year diving into what God says about who we are, and what it really means that the gospel is good news for our lives in Jr. High. Our conversations will be guided by the study: What’s Up? Discovering the Gospel, Jesus, and Who You REALLY Are.
Our time together will include worship, games, interactive Bible study, and small group discussion!

Sr. High Youth Group

Wednesday Evenings, 7:00-9:00 pm
Leader: Anna Beebe
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

October 31, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. As we reflect on this monumental event this year, we will ask ourselves what reformations we as individuals as well as we as the church are called to undergo in response to God’s will laid out in scripture.

Our journey will continue to be informed by The Gospel Project—a Christ-centered, canonical study that follows the storyline of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, in 4 years. The Gospel Project seeks to help students discover the big picture of what God has been doing throughout redemptive history, and what it means for them. This year we will finish our trek through the Old Testament, beginning with the book of Joshua.

Come ready for worship, games, Bible study, and small group discussion!

Sr. High Bible Study

Sunday Mornings, 8:45-9:50 am
Leader: Anna Beebe
Chris and Lisa Call will be leading a Bible Study on the Gospel of Matthew for Sr. High students in the Outback youth room every Sunday morning, with a strong emphasis on listening for God’s words to us today and on considering how he is calling us to live them out in our daily lives. Come with ready hearts and open minds!

Join like-minded men and women in conversationally studying God’s word, praying for one another, and participating in God’s exciting mission to our community and the world.
